Welcome to the Idaho Rural Partnership

The Idaho Rural Partnership (IRP) joins diverse public and private resources in innovative collaborations to strengthen communities and improve life in rural Idaho.

The IRP Board is established by state statute and is made up of 36 individuals who work together to improve economic and social conditions in rural Idaho. Some Board members are appointed by the Governor and others include representatives from federal and state agencies, and for-profit and non-profit entities.  

IRP Announces 3 Recent Grant Awards

We are pleased to announce recent grant awards from the following organizations and agencies that help us serve as a catalyst for community and economic development in rural Idaho.


$40,000 from Blue Cross of Idaho Foundation for Health (in partnership with the Idaho Community Foundation) to support IRP’s role in community engagement activities in rural counties as part of the Blue Cross Foundation’s Rural Health Initiative.

$10,000 from Battelle Energy Alliance/Idaho National Laboratory’s Tech-based Economic Development grant program to support community reviews in eastern Idaho, publication of the Idaho Ruralist E-Bulletin, our collaborative work with the rural development councils in Montana and Wyoming, and IRP’s participation in statewide efforts to increase broadband access in rural Idaho.

$15,000 from the Federal Highway Administration’s Technology and Innovation Deployment Program to support the community reviews statewide.
